"The Shea cuvée blends multiple blocks from this diverse and exceptional vineyard. It's dense with blackberry and black-cherry fruit, concentrated and more than a little deep. Highlights of cocoa, coffee grounds, truffle and tobacco trail out through a lingering, captivating finish." *Editors' Choice*

"Planted 1989 at 400–600 ft but I wasn't sent a 2019 version. The Bergströms write about this vineyard, 'one of the great wine properties of the New World, and a wonderful partner of Bergström Wines for 17 vintages. Dick and Dierdre Shea, and their 140-acre vineyard with its endless micro-climates and inch-thin sandy soils, consistently produce exceptional Pinot Noir fruit for 20+ of the best wineries in Oregon. Bergström Wines has historically purchased fruit from six different clonal blocks, totalling 16 acres.'
Bright, nuanced mid-ruby (not quite as blue as the other 2018 Pinots). Very subtle and winning on the nose. I do wonder why this is 'only' $70 when some other Bergström bottlings are $80. Pure pleasure. It seems utterly silly to describe this as 'so liquid' but it combines high-toned fruit with almost hidden tannin and yet there is some structure here. This is the hedonist's delight from this stable. Real energy and fluidity. So gorgeous now. Yet contained and confident rather than just sweet and flattering. 17.5/20 points."
