Vinous Reverie Notes
Jancis Robinson - Previous Vintage Review
"Certified organic and Biodyvin biodynamic. 10- to 30-year-old vines. Hand-picked. Fermented in stainless steel, aged on fine lees for six months in stainless steel and cement and then some of the wine was aged in oak for 12 months.
A beautiful nose. Baked oranges in frangipane. Subtle, bone dry, mille-feuille layers of lemon zest, toasted coconut, pan-warmed hazelnuts, Seville oranges and apricots. Smoky, has the beautiful bronze, echoing depth of a chau gong. A wine that you need to give time to reverberate through. 17/20 points. (TC)"
Beatrice & Pascal Lambert believe that crafting the finest, richest Chinon possible begins with respect for the soil and the vine. Their 18 ha Domaine is home to some of the finest terroirs for production of artisanal Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc in the region. Gravelly, alluvial soils with plentiful silica produce wines of richness, while calcareous clay (which includes deposits of chalky tuffeau) and silex impart regional distinction and finesse. Beatrice and Pascal seek to channel this ‘geological trilogy’ through their wines. Each cuvée is assembled to express the top features of the particular parcel of soils in which it grows. Le Droit Chenin - From 10-30 year old vines, the grapes are hand-harvested and directly pressed to allow fermentation to begin in stainless steel with ambient yeasts. Aged for six months in stainless steel.
