"Scents of rosewater and lemon blossoms introduce this light, fine moschofilero. It’s lean and delicate, finishing clean."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Antonopoulos Vineyards was founded by the late visionary winemaker, Constantinos Antonopoulos, near the city of Patras in northwestern Peloponnese. Constantinos saw the vast and untapped potential of this diverse landscape, especially the mountainous region of Achaea and the unique winemaking opportunities it presented. It has been said that there is no single Moschofilero, only many mutations of the ancient Fileri grape family from Peloponnese. The -filero suffix lends itself to many varieties grown in the area that have a similar DNA makeup to Moschofilero. These range in color from green to black, with considerable differences in sugar content and acidity levels. Moschofilero is by far the most common of these, but even within the variety itself there is a lot of variation. Well known for saving a host of indigenous local varietals, Antonopoulos wines convey a sense of history and provide context to a culture of long ago. Variety: 100% Moschofilero Food pairing: shrimp, crayfish, lobster, pasta with light sauces, shellfish, fruit. It is characterized by white color, with rosemary aromas, citrus and pear blossoms. The mouth is soft, with moderate acidity and fruity.
