Product Description
4 out of 5 stars - John Livingstone-Learmonth
"80% Grenache, 10-15% Mourvèdre, 10-15% Syrah, hand harvested, destemmed, 12-15 day vinification, wild yeasts, manual cap punching, raised used 600-litre oak casks 9 months, unfiltered, no added SO2 since 2018
dark, full red robe; the nose is filled up with concerted black cherry, a note of iodine, seaweed that helps to free it. It’s wide, rather imposing, carries purity. The palate surges from the go, gives a wave of ample cherry, blackberry fruit, keeps its shape well, finishes with a lucid tone, licorice on the aftertaste. There is pleasing abundance here – you will certainly not feel short changed. It’s tasty, is mostly about fruit rather than place, though there are some herb notions late on. 14.5°. 2025-26 April 2021"
Vinous Reverie Notes
The grapes come from our plots located to the south of the place called Saint Antonin. These plots are characterized by clay and silt soils resting on marl. The average age of the vines is 40 years. Manual harvest with sorting in the vineyard. 80% de-stemming then maceration for 18 days without adding sulfur. The wines are aged in concrete and demi-muid vats for 6 months. This wine was vinified, aged and bottled without the addition of sulfur. Tasting Notes: The Côte du Rhône Without Added Sulfur offers notes of kirsch and blackberries, mixed with notes of pepper and bouquet garni. It is round, well textured and balanced, with a good finish. Food Pairing: This cuvée will go perfectly with grilled meat or vegetable pie.
