"Full bottle 1,504 g. Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, and others. Vines more than 80 years old. Aged 20 months in new and second-use French oak. TA 6 g/l, pH 3.6.
Very dark colour like black-cherry skins. Darker fruited than the Vinha de Lordelo, more mineral/rocky. Tannins are firm but extremely refined and there is perfect harmony between the firm but velvety tannins, the freshness and the pure, intense fruit. A wine of real stature with long ageing potential though you could (just) approach it now with food. Sure to become more elegant with time in bottle. Extremely long. 18/20 points. (JH)"
