Product Description
93 points Wine Enthusiast
"Produced by Alexandre Monmousseau, scion of a distinguished local family, this wine is ripe, full-bodied and splendidly rich. Just getting ready to drink, the wine is generous and full of dried apple and peach flavors. Good now, it will age well, certainly until 2025."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Founded in the 17th century, Chateau Gaudrelle had been the property of the Monmousseau family since 1931. The estate progressively evolved and managed to produce refined and expressive wines. Since the beginning of the 2010s, Chateau Gaudrelle has been initiating a shift towards agriculture that is more respectful of nature in obtaining the Terra-Vitis certification in 2015. The conversion to organic farming is rapidly underway with the objective of turning biodynamic as soon as possible. Clos Le Vigneau is a single vineyard from an area known as "les Gues d'Amant" or "Lover's Gap". Most of the vines were planted in 1929. The soil is a mixture of argilo-calcaire, silex and gravel.
